6 of us met up at the Swan in Rowberrow for a fantastic ride around the warren, Rowberrow Woods & Black Down, ably led by Ian - he only got us lost twice.

Whilst coming down from Black Down, Carl had a puncture. Whilst waiting for him to repair that, the heavens opened & stayed that way for the rest of the trip. As I'd made the mistake of believing the forecast (occasional llight, patchy drizzle), I'd not bothered bringing extra & wet weather clothes!

The wet now made for some very tricky, technical descents over muddy, stony trails, with some equally slippery climbs. Ian managed to go over the handlebars at one point, but without damage.

On the last hack back to the pub, Al managed to get a log jammed in his back wheel which wrenched his gear mech right round & badly bent the dropout. That meant he had to push his bike the rest of the way uphill, though he could freewheel down the last descent. He was still keeping up with us pushing his bike. Good one, Al!

For me, now falls, nor mechanical problems - maybe not trying hard enough!

A great ride, followed by a couple of great beers & lunch - they didn't seem to mind us dripping on their carpet!
